I have been interested in electric vehicles for quite sometime. It all started back in the 70’s during the first gas crisis. Like everyone else, I forgot about electric vehicles. Gas became plentiful and it was cheap. About a year ago I viewed the movie “Who Killed the Electric Car”. To say the least, it is a real eye opener. I decided the time had come for me convert a vehicle to electric.

I am now in the process of converting my 2000 Ford Ranger. When I started, I knew nothing about the conversion process. This has been an unbelievable learning experience as this technology will be forever changing. I have searched the internet and was able to obtain a lot of information. Then, I found the EAA and the Gateway EV Club. The Gateway EV members have a wealth of knowledge and experience concerning electric vehicles. Everyone is more than willing to share it with you. I hope to continue to learn about the EV conversion process and share my experience with others.

Once I have completed converting my truck, I hope to install a solar array that will be used to charge my EV batteries.
